A poof book is a type of organizer that helps organize students vocabulary in any subject area. It is an effective SDAIE strategy because it provides rich context in aiding students in comprehension. It is emphasizes a visual approch that actively involves all student in the learning process. Once the poof book is made, there will be eight pages for the student to use. They can use each page to write their vocabulary word, definition, and draw a picture to help reinforce the meaning of the word. Drawing allows the students to use their artistic side. The poof book is a great tool for all students to use, especially the ELL because they have a picture to visualize the meaning of the word. The teacher should encourage their students to use their poof books to study their vocabulary. The poof book is very simple to make and the students can take pride in creating their own poof book

Materials:
1. Paper (8.5x11)
2. Pencils
3. Crayons or Markers
4. Voabulary you want your students to learn
Directions:
1. Fold the paper in half like a hot dog and crease.
2. Unflold the paper.
3. Fold the paper like a hamburger and crease.
4. Fold the paper again like a hot dog up toward the crease and crease.
5. Unfold once so the paper is in half like a hamburger.
6. Where the crease is, cut a slit in the middle of the paper half way through the paper.
7. Open the paper and you should have a slit in the center of the paper.
8. Fold the paper in half like a hot dog and you should see a "poof" in the center.
9. Hold the two ends of the paper an push your hands together to make the "poof."
10. Push the sections all the way together and crease. You do not need to staple it because it will hold together on its own.
11.Now you have a "Poof Book" :)
*You can attach an addtional poof book with a rubber band if you need additional pages.
